3 Economical Birds — Before and After

A family of some unknown birds by an unknown photographer (see models here; if you know the birds or the photographer, let me know!). The quotation is from a letter by Emily Dickinson to Miss Eugenia Hall, around 1885.

The black and white ones are the “Before” shots — I liked the result and wanted to capture it before I laid paint to card and risked mussing it up too much.

I couldn’t quite get the color right on the birds,so they look a little more like penguins than I like. Regarding colors, I am looking into getting some more gansai colors (information in an upcoming post), so maybe I’ll try this motif again with the right brown.
